Earlier this summer, FUSE was hired to create a video for one of North America’s leading rail and highway contractors: Herzog. With over fifty years of experience, Herzog provides state of the art equipment to railroad owners and operators, and they needed FUSE to help them showcase their latest technology, RailSentry.
RailSentry is a safety monitoring tool designed to ease the burden of monitoring numerous railroad crossings, bridges, and passenger stations. It’s designed to mitigate collisions between an oncoming train and potential hazards and provide real time alerts to the right people at the right time through its use of advanced sensors.
FUSE was contacted to develop a video that could visually explain the technology behind Herzog’s RailSentry. We were provided video footage of a railroad crossing, which we then were able to recreate by using a combination satellite maps to pinpoint the exact real-world location, and detailed reference imagery and video. After creating the crossing in our software, we were then able to overlay the different zones that RailSentry uses to warn locomotive engineers of potential hazards, and seamlessly transition between real life footage and CG imagery.
